Neuroplasticity and Brain Repair

Neuroplasticity refers to the brain’s remarkable ability to adapt and reorganize itself in response to learning, injury, or disease. This track examines how neuroplasticity changes occur at cellular, synaptic, and network levels, and how these mechanisms can be harnessed to support recovery and rehabilitation. Topics include adult neurogenesis, synaptic strengthening and pruning, and functional reorganization following stroke or trauma. Researchers will discuss strategies to stimulate plasticity, including pharmacological agents, brain stimulation, cognitive training, and enriched environments. This field holds great promise for advancing recovery in patients with neurodegenerative diseases, brain injuries, and developmental disorders.
