Aging, Dementia, and Cognitive Decline

As life expectancy increases globally, age-related cognitive decline and dementia present significant public health challenges. This track focuses on the biological and environmental factors that influence brain aging, with an emphasis on Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Sessions will cover early detection methods using neuroimaging, blood-based biomarkers, and cognitive testing. Participants will explore therapeutic interventions, from pharmacologic agents and lifestyle modifications to cognitive training and digital therapeutics. The track also highlights caregiver support and health policy issues. Understanding the aging brain is key to developing strategies that preserve mental function and enhance quality of life.
