Biography
Piotr Bregestovski obtained his Ph.D. in biophysics in Puschino, Moscow region, Russia (1974) and degree of Doctor of Sciences in physiology in Kiev, Ukraine (1990). He has been awarded several honorary awards, among them medals of Palladin (2008) and Speransky (2011); in 2001 he was appointed as "One of the most cited scientists in France". He is also Honorary Professor of Kazan State Medical University, Russia (2016). Since 2017 he is the Chairman of the International Scientific Council at Kazan State Medical University, Russia.
Research Interest
Molecular physiology and biophysics of ionic channels, electrophysiological and image analysis of synaptic transmission; fluorescent monitoring of ions and proteins; confocal imaging; modulation of synaptic function; genetically encoded probes.
